• Drawing from There and Back

This is a drawing from a painting I did a few weeks ago. I was coming up short for drawing ideas today and so I trundled off to the garage where my workspace is and took a look at what was around me….

A quick sketch as I sat in “Perfect 10” indulging in a pedicure.

  • Rain Trees

I am obsessed with this line of trees on the edge of crissy field. They seem to be gossiping –I have a strong affinity for the lone one on the left–he sort of leans away but desperately wants to be a part of the action, too.

  • Feet up

Endured a harrowing ride home through horrendous traffic over the bay bridge with an exhausted, shrieking toddler. Thankfully he fell asleep in the car and I was able to “execute the transfer.” He’s in bed, I am enjoying the quiet of the house. This was all the energy I had for the drawing, today.

  • Alley

This began as a drawing of the alley between our house and the house next door, as seen from the window in my daughter’s room…but then it sort of morphed into something else. I like the moments when the drawing stands up and demands that you head a different direction from the intended one…

New materials arrived today. Cretacolor Aquastic–they are good-quality water soluble oil pastels. They come in the width of the aquarelle crayons, so it’s easier to feel a sense of control. I got a pack of 20 and at $20 on sale at Jerry’s Artarama, I think it’s a good investment!
