Yesterday’s reliquishing of my sketchbook to my kids has opened up something freer in me. It’s always good to take an artistic risk.

from my kids. This started as a response to the previous day’s drawing and then I let them draw on top of it. It feels loose and unexpected–and was a good lesson in letting go for me. (And they had a great time drawing in mommy’s sketchbook!)

Tuesday drawing, completed late at night, in my garage studio. Pipes, junk, the hum of the hot water heater and a quiet space to draw.
